display screen problem

win 7 64 bit home premium new re-install screen flickers back and forth low then high laptop Toshiba satellite
windows updates all installed. do I need display drivers update? any help would be appreciated? thank you pennies2

Ordinarily I don't recommend using Windows Update to get hardware drivers. Have you done this? If so, this could explain why you are having this issue.

However, if you did not use Windows Update to get your video driver, the problem is coming from somewhere else. Therefore, it would be really easy to use Windows Update to see if a video driver shows up in the list for your computer. If a video driver shows up, install it, then reboot. Since there is a video problem right now, you don't have anything to lose by trying this approach.

The other thing to try is to go into Device Manager and get the version number of your video driver. Then go to toshiba.com and get a video driver which is older than the one you currently have (with a lower version number), and install it. Then reboot.
