Hiyya everyone am down and out for a bit - broke my leg yesterday and waiting on corrective surgery. so would appreciate it if anyone can drop in on my threads as I only have the phone with me.
Should be back in a few days, hope you all had great Xmas looking forward to the New Year eh?

Okay John, you must understand that breaking body parts is not groovy.

1. It's hurts
2. No pain during surgery but it will be there after surgery and you can't have some drinks to help the problem. I hate that.
3. You will have to find new ways to sit in front of your keyboard and on the toilet until your healed.
4. While you are healing, sex is no longer as enjoyable.

All kidding aside, heal quick and as painless as possible.

I just got out of vascular surgery about 2 week ago and every day things get a little better.
Wish the same to you. Day at a time.
They tell me it's my age and I tell them no; it's because they cut the hell out of me.

Hello ICIT2OL, Sorry to hear that you have broken your leg. I hope you have the quickest recovery possible. It must be very painful.

Hi John, hope you get through the corrective surgery OK. Been there, done that, although for me it was many years ago: both legs and a fractured skull. Came after a hit and run threw me into a wall. The corrective surgery took the form of rebreaking one leg, after a coma and 3 brain ops. (Wife believes they dropped and lost some parts)

Thing is, the leg rebreak-and-refix is the most pain I remember, sorry! Apart from a massive, month long headache, that is.

How did you break your leg? I was actually coming back from an all-night party whilst serving in Germany, which is probably one reason why I never remembered anything about that night. You will probably get some down to earth humour from mates, I recall my mates sending me a hand-drawn "sympathy card" in which my mates wrote "If you drink, don't Fly."

All the best with the surgery mate, keep the bedpan handy!

Hiyya an dthnaks for the well wishes.

Well as usual gung ho me thought he would wash some curtains ready for the kids coming to my place the next day. To cut a long story short coming down a short step ladder went to steady myself with the curtain rod and it came away from the wall. Crawled across the living room floor to the phone was an experience in pain as was the first few days (it still has it's moments when I don't watch what I am doing and clout the leg against something) but at least it has made me realise I cannot travel at that speed anymore and I have been banned by my son from any form of ladders
The break itself was a sheer (straight across) one and now has whacking great steel rod down the centre of my femur that is fixed to the lower end just above the knee and to some more hardware at the top to hold it all in a set position.
All in all I think I got out of it quite lightly as there was furniture around where I fell that could have broken my neck or at least fractured my stupid skull.

Anyway no where near what you Bertison had happen that sounds just like purgatory cos my little episode served up an ocean of pain as did my wrecked shoulder back in 2009 and I just cannot begin to understand what it must have been like for you.
