DriveImage XML on DUAL BOOT

Must be my lucky day! More weird stuff!

SYSTEM SETUP:
----------------
eMachines (Tower)

265 GB Western Digital Internal Hard Disk :huh:
Partitioned as drives C and D and evenly sized
C Drive is VISTA HOME PREMIUM
D Drive is WINDOWS 7 Build 7100

500 GB Western Digital USB Drive
Partioned as drives E and F and evenly sized
E Drive is STORAGE
F Drive is STORAGE

DUAL BOOT

When VISTA boots DRIVE C is DRIVE C and DRIVE D
is DRIVE D etc.

When W7 boots it swaps drives (ie: D becomes C
and C is now drive D) and we understand the drive
swap logic as WINDOWS in general basically CROAKS
if it can't boot from C Drive.... or at least THINK that
it is booting from C

But Dave..... This is the software forum????? YES I KNOW
and here comes the software issue and the reason i explained
all of the above information....

The system sees everything normally except
when booted into W7 it defaults my CD/DVD drive
to drive E which therefore changes the real E drive
to F drive and the real F drive becomes G drive.
Tee Hee!!!!! Are you lost yet?

Oooooooookay.... Here it is......
DriveImage XML works just peachy in my VISTA but in
W7 i guess it is confused by the SWAPPED drives and
ONLY sees F and G (No C or D Now, remember,
C and D are on the INTERNAL DISK so we couldn't
blame it on the USB being any part of the issue. To
do a backup ya can't SWAP the drives back to normal
cuz Windows goes UNH--UHH oh no you di-int jus try
to do dat!!!!

So... Ideas? Cures? Bullits? Rat Poison?

What kind of partitions are C and D. Primary, logical ect.

Hello Dixon...

They are ALL Primary NTSF partitions.
I have 2 physical drives and C and D
are on Drive (zero) and E and F are on a
Western Digital USB Passport Drive.
I have NO logical drives as per Vista storage
management which says they are ALL Primary.
