Driver problems after changing motherboard without reinstalling window

ToreAA just a little note.

Drivers that come through using Windows 7 Updates not only have been tested by the manufacture but also by Microsoft. Microsoft does this test to make sure the drivers play well with Windows 7.
I use Microsoft recommended drivers without problems. At times they will be a little older than drivers you find on line because that Microsoft testing takes some time.

ok interesting, I always heart to never install drivers from windows update and always go to motherboard producers for most drivers.

Here is what i have done since last.
I used windows update to get drivers and updates and that worked great.
Then I started to uninstall drivers that was not used anymore.
Installed all motherboard drivers and that went fine.
Got latest Nvidia drivers

Almost everything seem to work ok. Some programs need keys or reinstall.

Issues Im working with now:
I have low fps in games, around half of what I had before. Feel like Im forgetting something but I have not found any solution yet

Another minor thing is that my USB stick dont work and give me this message: This device cannot start. (Code 10). I have not used any time on this yet but I see that there is some guides online to fix this so I think it will work soon.

Thanks for all the help so far. I will not say that this transfer of windows to a new motherboard is successful yet but I'm close and hopefully will be there soon.

Where in Clean Reinstall Windows 7 does it say to uninstall "drivers that are not in use any more?"

It is quite specific as to how drivers are handled in the first driver-complete OS that these should be obtained first from Windows Update and only imported from the PC's or device maker's website if any are still missing in Device Manager after all Updates are installed, or any problems are presented by the ones Updates supplied.

If you missed the steps about how drivers are handled best in Win7 which are printed in red then I'd do it over and this time follow each step carefully.

Those so called not needed drivers you removed; some were probably needed.
If you would just follow the steps Greg has given you install would be a lot easier.
Now you have to correct the error you made while trying to repair the error you had.

Remove you XP hat and snugly put on your Windows 7 hat.

Now you know why I do Clean Installs. It's just so much easier when you let Windows 7 do all the work for you. When someone tries to force things on Windows 7 it will argue.
Follow Gregs instruction exactly and their is a very good chance you will be able to fix your problems.
