Solved DVD Burn Failure

Sony, Memorex, Verbatim, they all work great, never even heard of Optical Quantum.

Sony and Memorex are probably the best I`ve ever used, Philips and Maxell have never let me down either.

Sony just might be the best on the market but you`ll pay more.

I don't burn that much, but I've never had an issue until I bought that Optical Quantum DVD media. I wasn't aware of the fact that some manufacturers put out crap DVD media. I've always heard that some brands were better than others, but I didn't have any experience. I will note that these crappy DVD media were LightScribe DVD media and LightScribe shutdown a few years ago, likely for a reason.

Also, my issue with seven year old optical drive drawers not opening reliably was resolved with a disassembly, general cleaning of the drawer mechanical components, light lubrication with synthetic lubricant and reassembly. My optical drives function like new.

You never gave up.

I have use Sony, Memorex, and Verbatim without problems.
I'm out of Memorex at the time.
I don't remember having problems with any of them.
I find them at a good price at places like Big Lots or Dollar Stores when I'm shopping for other things.

I also use the CDCheck utility. It's good to check the DVDs and CDs after burning, because sometimes you can get a good burn indication, but not a 100% pass with CDCheck. It's a free utility with registration.
