Enter Network Credentials: What username/password do I enter?

I regularly use my laptop over the wireless network to access folders on my desktop machine - both are Win 7.

Today I bought a new Win 10 laptop and when I try accessing the desktop machine, the new Win 10 laptop asks for UN/PW via the dialog "Enter network credentials."

I have no idea what to enter. Assistance is greatly appreciated.

It's the very same credentials as you use to normally login into the desktop machine. Windows omits that question if the laptop also uses the very same credentials, that being the most likely cause for the question.

Thank you for your reply. I do not use any credentials to login to the desktop machine so I don't know how to remedy the situation.
