Solved Experienced EasyBCD Difficulties

First, let me say that I very much appreciate whs for the wonderful tutorial and for pointing me in the direction of EasyBCD; with it I was able to solve an issue that was about to drive me to tears.

I followed the above instructions to the letter and when I later tried to restart I kept getting "bootmgr is missing"

I finally had to sort things out with a system repair disc.

I have three more computers to do; is my experience a rare occurrence or a common event ?

Did I do something wrong or not do something I should have ?

Not being real savvy, I am a bit gun-shy of proceeding with the rest of our computers.

Before anything was changed, I wanted to create system images of all four of our computers, all Windows 7, two are Pro and two are Home Premium; the two with Windows 7 Pro are identical in every aspect, except that one is new/clean and the other has four months of use and many installed programs.

I wanted to create a system image of the new one before we used it for anything.

I kept getting Error 0x80780119

I researched this error and tried many fruitless fixes until I was found the above linked post about relocating the boot manager from the volume that was causing me problems.

I followed the provided instructions in the tutorial to the letter, relocating the boot manager to the C:\ drive; this did relocate the boot manager and provided the previously un-named volume with a letter (E that now appears underneath the Computer heading in Explorer as System Reserve (E

All seemed well until I restarted the computer, at which time it refused to start and said "bootmgr is missing" press Ctl-Alt-Delete to restart; no matter how many times I pressed Ctl-Alt-Del, it always stopped at the "bootmgr is missing"

I tried the F12 menu with no success.

I could have repeatedly pressed F6 and forced a restore, but this would have put me back to square one with the boot manager back in the offending volume.

I finally used my system repair disc and I do not know what it did but it started the computer and now all is well.

I intend to create system images of the remaining three computers and I already know that I will have to relocate the boot manager in the identical Windows 7 Pro computer as when I tried a system image I got the same error.

Before I get into the same scenario, my question is: are there any assumed steps to the procedure that I was unaware of or is my experience unusual ?

In other words, by following the tutorial, in most cases having this "boot manager is missing" scenario does not occur, right ?

Update on the situation:
I just finished using EasyBCD on the second computer, the other identical Windows7 Pro one.

This time everything went off without a hitch; I held my breath when I clicked "restart", but it restarted as quick as ever --- maybe even quicker.

Hopefully my first experience was just a freak occurrence and it will be smooth sailing from here on out.

With the boot manager relocated to the C:\ drive, I have been able to successfully create system images of both of these computers.
