f2p on-line game caused security concern

Hi,

I've recently been playing a free to play on-line game and had, until a few moments ago, been playing in windowed mode. On changing from windowed to full-screen mode, my firewall spat out this notification...

I certainly didn't perform an upgrade to the binary files concerned...
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\MpCmdRun.exe
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\MsMpEng.exe

Looking at the files' time-stamps, they don't appear to have changed since I last performed a Windows security update on 26/09/12.

Should I be concerned?

If you play the game in windowed mode again, do you still get a security warning?

Sorry guys, you responded a lot quicker than I expected and unfortunately I left the checkbox ticked and clicked yes to both alerts (one for each of the above mentioned files), but I have since removed the two application rules pertaining to both.

I might add that I had several other applications running at the time of the incident, web browser, explorer window, text editor, screen recording app etc. etc., but none of these had caused concern before - the incident happened instantaneously as I clicked the apply button to change the game's screen size.

I have since rebooted the box and tried changing the game's screen size several times without being able to reproduce the issue, but I also notice that the said application rules have not reappeared in the PCTFP's list of applications and I don't seem to have suffered any ill effects.

It may be due to an update of MSE that changed the executable files, so that other program detected that change, and in fact it warns that it may be the case.

But to be sure, it would be good if you can do a full system scan and check for anything, just in case. I would not be worried if you don't detect anything suspicious other than that sole message.
