Failing to connect to wireless

Hello everyone,

I've been browsing the forums and working on this problem for the past hour or so and haven't had any luck. So hopefully the combined power of geeks can help me out

I installed 7100 two days ago with no problems. Wireless has been working fine ever since. It has gone into hibernate mode multiple times since then. Each time I "woke it up" it has connected just fine.

Todday, I installed Warhammer Online and began to patch it, I forgot about the hibernate function, went out for about an hour or two. Came home, woke my PC and my wireless will now not connect.

I can see my router, along with all my neighbors. If I select mine, it will ask for my security key (only after I blow away the connection profile) attempt to connect and then fail.

I have deleted and manually renetered my connection profile numerous times, rebooted, deleted and readded the adapter and/or driver. And I still get the same result. Tried both the driver from the netgear site and the windows one.

I have 6 computers, and 3 xbox 360s connecting to the wireless just fine. And like I said mine was working solid for two days (in fact, I think it has been better). Also, I am the only person who has access to the router.

Specs:
Windows 7, 7100
Netgear WN311B
Linksys router flashed with latest DD-WRT

Check and see if you by chance had a new driver installed - if so, roll back to the previous one....

Since I've been using the tulip driver and the one I took from the website, "rollback" is no longer an option.

However I do remember that feature being grayed out before I touched the drivers.

OK, so currently, are you using the built in Windows driver, the one from WU, or the 3rd party one?

Currently - I am using the netgear one. TBH I just tried to reinstall the tulip ones that the OS found on Installation. Can't find where they are stored.

3 things:

1) I jsut read your screen name in full - lmfao!

2) You an I are probably the only two people referring to those as Tulip drivers - at least we know what we mean!

3) Try removing the NIC and drivers and then *rebooting* off the DVD and performing a repair install

Of course, you know that it might actually *be* your card itself - have you tried an alternate?

I think I've may have figured it out.

I went to do a full repair as suggested by JohnGalt. Before I did, I had the option to use a restore point. I never used this in XP (I skipped vista!) so I tend to forget about those. Luckily it was defaulted to create them.

Anywho at 5:30 it created one from where I installed warhammer online, 7:01 it installed an update from Windows, and 7:30 it started creating restore points for all the driver uninstalls/installs I did.

So I restored to the 5:30 point and worked like a champ.

I am guessing it has something to do with that update at 7:01 so I turned off automatic updates and later today/tomorrow I will manually download it and test it out. If does appear to be the update anyone got the link where I can report it to microsoft?
