Nah, lets release it early and have another Vista debacle all over again :sarc:
Yeah Go GO! ;)

Nah - I agree with what the rest of you are saying. The beta is indeed very stable, and I am only using Windows 7 on my working laptop. Hasn't crashed on me yet, only had sidebar.exe crash on me once or twice. But still it would be a great shame (and waste) if MS didn't use the feedback to polish and improve Windows 7 as much as possible before the launch.

Microsoft can and must not rush Windows 7. So far MS has laid the ground work to achieve a great launch by releasing such a stable beta (hardly any negative press about it). But this positive image of Windows 7 can fade in an instant if the final product doesn't live up to expectations. This positive image would be transformed from "Best OS EVER!" (exaggerating a bit) to "Vista II" (as another already has remarked)

After Vista, the Windows brand needs a success, so people finally will move on from XP. Or else XP will celebrate its 10th birthday, while still being the most adopted OS out there...

Couldn't agree more, W7 is a fantastic Beta, but STILL a beta and does need the "Spit & Polish" treatment.
MS knew W7 was in good shape when they released the beta, and they also knew it needs work still and that's why they want so many people trying it and getting feedback. IE8 is still buggy and MS knows it and needs to work more on that, and there are a few other areas that need work and MS knows this too.

No...this guy is a dork trying to get his name out there by using this juvenile tactic, and there is NO WAY that MS is going to release 7 until it's ready for the general public.
XP was released with 1500 known bugs, Vista with 500. I would be glad to see 7's release down to 400 or under and I'm willing to wait a bit longer if that's what it takes. I think 7's adoption rate will be very good, Vista laid the groundwork for the major changes MS needed to make to Windows, and Win7 is poised to reap rewards from that groundwork.

yeah then well all have to move to singularity (once it fleshes out) ...:p
for those that dont know
Singularity (operating system) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
those who said that it was impossible to run in a OS with manage code are Wrong,
Wrong!!!
and Go SIP's (software isolated process) as far as i know that means less third party exploits!
(well i know the a piece of the code is written in assembly and C but the kernel itself is written in managed code....)
the Future in the Future looks good and best of all its OSS!

Yeah Go GO! ;)

this cant happen....
singularity has to be released before MS goes bankrupt (or loses majority market-share)
naw you'll see that everyone is going to love it...

remember this is refining
thats how MS is
Major version followed by refinement refinement refinement....

yeah he wants to be a part the Win7 beta Cult (there i said it... thats how it works with these Mac OSX kids... they get too attached to a OS)
i mean i love what MS made with 7 (and came to their sense and instead of building it upon the vista kernel (which would be looked and for sure someone will say it "if it is based on the vista kernel why couldnt it be SP2?") the built it based on the Server Kernel which is far more superior and stable (which i cant stress enough is also based on the vista kernel)
so like i said this is the third refinement of this family of OS's....
thats why they have to get it right (and why they can actually give a release date that seem as rushed even though most code was already there in Server 2008....
Sorry you guys but i do love the MS Server OS's (there are far more stable than the consumer OS...:p) cant leave linux either..(also stable*when it wants to be*...;))

enough of my server and linux fanboyism but i do love these linux and MS sever and hope that 7 will be filed with less bugs OOB (as this is a win-win-win for consumers developers and MS) and i wonder if the are going to conterattack With W7 commercials (counterattacking the MacOSX vs Vista campain)....
