file name too long for recycle bin

Help please How can I delete a folder/file on my desktop, where file names are too long for recycle bin. I have tried shift-del still says source file too large for system I have tried to shorten file but it sub-directory runs are very deep and last file are massive length TIA

If you press shift+del it will delete the file without sending it to the recycle bin or you can rename it to a short name before deleting it.

Fast copy has the ability to delete long path names. I actually just used it last week. Download FastCopy - MajorGeeks

Shorten the name of the folder. That counts towards the character limit.

I'm on my laptop right now and the program is installed on my desktop. So when I get on there I can take some screen shoots and show you how to use it.

The 255 character rule applies to the entire path? That's news to me. I think some of the files in my Firefox profile must be as long.

Nope, longest is 156, and it's 10 levels in.

It's the entire path. From what I'm reading they changed that with 10.
