Solved Font disappears, wtf?!?

EDIT: solved, i think; i reinstalled the font but this time checked the box marked 'use shortcut' during the font install.

I install this font (Courier Prime)
Courier Prime - A Courier made for screenplays. | Quote-Unquote Apps
and it works great, for a day or two, shows up in my screenwriting software as an available font, so I use it for my screenplay. Then a day or two later it suddenly vanish, not available, not listed in c:\Windows\Fonts not even when I go into the Control Panel: Appearance: Fonts settings, and uncheck 'Hide Fonts based on language settings'.

If I try to reinstall the font (.tff files) or even copy+paste the font's .tff files to the Windows 7 fonts directory, I get a popup saying the font is already installed; yet the font is NOT listed when i look in c:\Windows\Fonts\ (it does show up there if I reinstall the font).

I have scanned this font's four .tff files that I use to install it and no threats are detected (using Avast antivirus software).

What is going on? How can I get this font to 'stick'? Or is this really malware that Windows is removing and that my Avast antivirus software is simply not detecting?

It is maddening--- I can reinstall the font, but every time i reboot the font vanishes from the list of installed fonts.
