Hey guys,

First time posting here and I have an odd problem. So I have a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate which is 32&64 bit and I've been using this copy for years without problems. Whenever I'd install Windows it would always ask me to choose which version I'd want.

Fast forward to now, my friend would like to sell his desktop. When I put the CD in it does not prompt me to choose if I want 32 or 64 bit Ultimate, rather it installs Windows 7 Basic. Once it's done, I boot into the desktop and after being online for roughly 5min, a random green arrow pops up at the bottom right, and it installs roughly 10 malware items.

I asked my friend about what he had before and he said he had a cracked version of Windows 10 on there. Now, I've never seen this before and I have no clue if the 2 things are related. Any help?

Thanks

Due to forum rules, you won't get any discussion of a cracked version of Windows 10 here.

Did you boot from your Ultimate CD and attempt to delete all partitions on your friend's PC?

Yes or no.

I was thinking maybe the Windows 10 Crack was Bios based and somehow it is corrupting it?

Welcome to the forum.
I think that the problem is with the Win 7 installation disk:
- Win 7 installation has two disks, one for 32 bits and another to 64 Bits.
- Each disk has all the 4 brands on it but only install the one that matches the license. If you have the option to choose witch brand you want to install, it has been modified to do so.
- I would say that you have a cracked copy and it has a virus and/or malware.

Download a copy from MS Windows 7

If you don`t have a license for windows, then you should sell it with no operating system (let the buyer get what they want) or install something like Zorin OS 9

And make sure he states that windows does not have a license to the buyer.

As Megahertz suggests, create a new install DVD
