Generic Non-PnP Monitor-Not recognizing Sansui SLED2453w

Hey everybody,

So I recently aquired a Sansui SLED2453w monitor, and it ran fine for a little while, but now it's set to a resolution of 1280x1024, and is labeled as a "Generic Non-PnP Monitor". This resolution is OKAY, but it's the highest that Windows is allowing me to choose, without saying it's unsupported. I had it running on a above 1700 resolution when it worked. I've tried updating it's driver, "detecting" it, and a couple other methods.

I've, of course, unplugged it and reconnected to no avail.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Any help is thoroughly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

According to some specs I found, it is full 1080p with two HDMI connections. How are you connecting it to your GPU? According to AMD, your card supports 1080p using a HDMI cable. The only other thing is to check in the CCC and look under "Desktop Management" and see what the refresh rate is and Desktop area under basic and HDTV and see what your options are...and manually change them.

I'm using the typical "purple" monitor jack with it at the moment. I have tried the HDMI cable, but when I do all the letters/pictures on a screen are off colorwise and blurry. If I use the HDMI, should it fix the resolution and if so, how to fix the blurry letters?

I've never heard or seen a purple jack for a monitor connection. The only connections I know of are the HDMI which is just black, DVI which is white and VGA which is blue. So now I'm totaly confused, unless the color connections are different from country to country.

Can you take some pictures of your system connections and post them so I have some idea what we are both looking at. Then we can work on a plan of action for you.

Apologies, it IS a VGA jack. Just has a purple tint to it oddly enough. I can also provide pictures if you still would like them.

I am having the same problem! I have a monitor that is cracked so excitedly bought a 30' VGA cable so I can use the laptop in my bedroom using my tv as the monitor. Worked great at my friends house. Here on this TV it says UNSUPPORTED.
