Getting ads after changing Firefox security setting

I noticed that in Enhanced Tracking, none had been selected. After I clicked in Standard, now I can see ads on some sites that previously were blank areas. The box for block popup is checked. Is there any way to revert this choice or a way to block seeing these distracting ads?

I was hoping it was as simple as just reversing or disabling ETP so none of the choices are selected. I found the instructions below on a Mozilla site (attachemnt2), but they mention a switch, which I don't see when I look at the ETP choices (attachment 1).

The tracking protection is accessed through the shield in the left corner of the address bar. If you click on it you see the info in the image you uploaded.
Mine is turned on

May b try uninstalling and reinstalling firefox or

reset to default

Click “Troubleshooting Information”. ...
Click on “Refresh Firefox” ...
Confirm. ...
Click “Finish”.

The shield is just for individual pages. I just want to restore the settings to before I clicked on Standard ETP.


Will resetting Firefox to default keep bookmarks and cookies?
