Google Earth has now officially reached version 6.x, and is ready to provide PC, Mac and Linux users with an enhanced virtual globe experience. To reach its goals, the new software has been fully integrated with Street View, was added 3D trees, and better access to historical imagery.

OMG, the Street View is amazing! It's hard enough to believe that they have mapped the entire planet from the air --- but how do they have the manpower to map each street -- each building. It just seems too incredible to believe!

(And no, they haven't yet gotten to literally every single street of every single area on Earth but it's already close enough!!!!)

I don't know if Google Earth slows down your PC, but yesterday I downloaded it as part of a full package with Chrome, and when I tried to uninstall Google Chrome (using the Program + Features uninstall button) it apparently corrupted my system so that I could no longer click on any url links in any Word docs! :banghead: That was horrible! I tried uninstalling Google Earth, but that didn't correct the problem, so I had to do a System Restore, which thankfully did! Phew! :geek:
