Got a gamestop brand xbox controller by Mad Catz but doesn' work on pc

I got a gamestop brand xbox controller by mad catz and when I plugged it into my pc it tried to install the drivers but could,'t so I got the controller drivers from Microsoft's website didn't help then I got the driver from Madcatz official website that didn't help either. I would really appreciate it for any solutions

Through experience I've found that only official Microsoft Xbox controllers work well with PCs, any other brand, or no-brand for that matter, cause problems like this more often than not. I'd return it for a refund and purchase an official controller.

I got the controller free. I really want it to work. I got the correct drives for it so why isn't it working. Is it because I need to update PIX Other Hardware HID Compliant Device
