Hello! I had problems with drivers so I removed my drivers for windows 7 BETA x 64 build 7068 and I downloaded new driver 181.71 BETA for win7.

It's giving me a best error message ever seen:
It's telling it in finnish me but its saying:

Software detected that OS you are using isn't windows. This program is only for windows OS.

So what the ****???

Wow, that's rich. I have changed vid drivers several times using the latest VISTA 64 bit drivers and using the W-7 beta driver with no problems. When I change vid drivers, I uninstall my vid cards via Device Manager and reboot to Safe Mode. I install the driver in Safe Mode and reboot to w-7. I'm running a GTX 260 & a 8800GT for PhysX. The only twist I have ever had, was that the PhysX driver did not install initially. I installed the driver by locating the extracted driver under the NVIDIA folder. Other than that, I have found changing vid drivers in W-7 pretty smooth.

You are really lucky. :D now I clicked in device manager " scan for hardware changes " and win7 installed me a graph. driver but it's not working because temperatures raises to 80-85. In win xp never happened that. And very interesting this is I cant enter on nvidia control panel it keep saying " the nvidia display panel cannot be created. Possible reason include : version mismatch. reinstalling my solve this problem." :SSSS

How did you install the new build. Sometimes if you upgrade windows you can run into loads of problems. I have installed most of the new builds and have no problems. :)

Hi, Just downloaded and run 181.71 on the 7000 release with an ASUS 9600GT. Got a blue screen on re-start and when I re-booted it appears to be running OK. Did you simply let NVidia application load itself or attempt to load from location? Jak

I tryed to load from location but it didn't seen my graphic driver file. Nvidia load the latst nvidia driver always if I install some driver or delete the driver. I can use only this driver. I just watched out in nvidia forums and there so many people have problem with 181.71 for crashing. So the 181.71 BETA release is bugged and win7 don't let me install another version. Thats bad.

If you right click on the icon you will notice the option to "troubleshoot compatability". You will find it underneath run as administrator. Click on that too.

The latest driver installer is giving me fits. It's saying "not a 7 zip archive" I have never used 7 Zip. I cant change the name or the properties. I can't even run the installer. I think this may be why but not sure. If anyone knows a solution let me know. I've tried reading the posts in the Nvidia driver threads. Look at the "original filename" here. (starts with 7Z)
View attachment 7276

I tried changing the name, that's why the 181.1...I took the 7 out. Also .reg files have no option to "merge" because I tried Brinks 7zip fix. I think I have file system problems in Windows 7.

I think you have a fake driver. This is not from Nvidia.

I have the same video card so I know this is wrong.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that it IS strait from Nvidia...I have changed the name. Do you have the same original filename? It is from Nvidia. I can't remove the properties either. If i could make a copy of the file...I think it would work. Maybe I need to read up on that. It will not let me copy with those properties removed.

I cant understand why you would change the properties of a driver from the original source?
I have used Nvidia for years and never had a problem with any drivers.
My system specs are on the bottom of my post.

I am trying to change the properties because when I try to run the .exe it says. "not a 7Zip archive. I have never used 7Zip. I have tried everything. I don't think I will get answers until someone who sees this has gone through it. Thanks.

I just put in the driver CD from my new card I got today. (A 9500 GT) and it found Windows 7 driver version 181.22. I would recommend that to anyone reading this.

I have Win 7 Ultimate build 7000 running on a HT media PC using a 46" Panasonic plasma. This worked fine with my GX260 card but when I put my 8800GTS 512 card in and tried several drivers, I was still unable to shrink the image to fit my screen properly. Any ideas anyone?

I have the 8400GS (I think it's GS).

I use Windows Update because it offers me the latest Beta NVIDIA drivers. Only one or two hiccups on the second release of the video driver (screen shake). Otherwise, almost flawless performance.

Let Windows Update check to make sure you have the latest for that card.

I would not recommend those drivers. I have always had better performance with Win7 using the newest available Vista x64 drivers.

181.71 Win7 beta driver no issues with at all.
What I found the best to do is let Windows Update install their driver 1st. Which when I installed 7077 was 181.71 but with no control panel or other options. Then install the Nvidia beta driver.
