Solved GTX 560 Non-ti Tri-Monitor

Hello,

I have here a gtx 560 non ti version that a friend gave me, and I was wondering if this can support up to 3 monitors?


The card has 2 DVI's and 1 HDMI, so does that mean I'm set?

I saw online that it doesn't work for the Ti version. But mine is not the Ti version, so will it work? Thanks in advance.

A Ti is a better card, so with that knowledge......

Please post a manufacturers link to your card, we have no idea what you have.

But with 3 outputs that usually means you can hook up 3 monitors, only 1 way to find out. Go to the manufacturers website and read the specs

You can't always go by the number of ports on a GPU card to determine how many monitors it will support. My MSI 7850 has four ports (two DP, one DVI and one HDMI) but only supports three monitors.

I just love it when the specs only say multi-monitor support. The jokers who write those specs should be shot. I'm guessing (note the word guessing) that the card will support only two
monitors. Whoa! I found this: http://www.nvidia.com/content/geforce-gtx/GTX_560_User_Guide.pdf. In it, I found this:

A single GeForce GTX TI graphics card can support up to two displays per card in a multi-monitor configuration.

I have no reason to believe an non-TI card would be any different, especially with the listed maximum resolution. I'm sticking with my original guess.

agreed Jean, my 980 Ti has 5 outputs but only supports 4 monitors, if I wanted 8 monitors I suppose I could use the ports on the other card :roflmao:

What's so funny about it? That's what a lot of day traders do; you just can't run SLI. Even Eyefinity will support only up to six monitors. Which brings up an interesting anomaly. A card that is Eyefinity compatible and will support up to six monitors may have six miniDisplayPorts or use only two Display Ports out of a total of four ports (the other two being something like a DVI and or HDMI) and two three-port dongles.

So it appears that I have discovered this:

It's a killer deal, should I put it in my other pci slot? I don't have 2 x16 slots.

I'll state my specs:

CPU: Core i3 4160 3.60Ghz
RAM: 10GB (1, 8 and 1, 2)
Power Supply: Corsair: CX-600M (600 watt)
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Motherboard: Not sure all I know is my computer is a lenovo h50-50.
GPU: Geforce GTX 560 1GB

I have a spare nvidia 8400gs that I'd put in the adapter. The only problem I see occuring is the power supply not giving enough juice.. besides that I'd imagine that everything else would be fine, right?

Or... in order to make it work would I have to have another 560 (the same model as my current)?

What`s your purpose for using the 8400GS ?

You need 2 of the same series cards to use sli, personally I wouldn`t bother with a riser card and another old GPU like that, just buy a new 980 or 980 Ti.
