Hard disk drive not detected

Hi all, I have a SonyVIO laptop Model PCG 71313M
I am running windows 7, 64 bit with plenty of RAM. The laptop was accidentally stood on, and the screen became all blurred and pixalated. I replaced the screen, rebooted the laptop, the VIO logo came on the screen,then I thought alls well and good. Next the dreaded "OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND" was on the display. In the BIOS it shows HDD NONE.
Any help in this matter would be much appreciated

The error means the boot sector /files are missing. Did you reset the BIOS while Messing if it changed the mode of the disk that may cause it. You need to boot install DVD check the disk is OK from CMD prompt type dir c:\ if it shows files you need to repair the boot with bootrec

Check that your disc is properly plugged in if it moves then put like a piece of wood or something to stop it from moving 2 your operating system might be corrupted or infected. Try to insert the installation disc and try to install Windows again if it displays no disk then your disk may be not plugged in or faulty. Hope I helped!

Thanks for that, not sure about the replys, I did not change or reset the BIOS after installing new screen. Just put new screen on and thats it. Not sure if I have installation disk. What is bootrec where do i get that from, Im not really DOS or CMD prompt taughtso in plain English would be nice, thanks

I think it's related to "the laptop was accidentally stood on"
Can you explain what happened? Was the lap top on?
Who replaced the screen?
I would say that the HDD has been damaged and needs to be replaced.
Consider to buy a SSD.
