my hard drive has a partition with a single folder on it for recovery. this partition has about 2GB of space left.

is it OK to store other files on this partition or would it mess something up if I need to recover?

I think it's safe to do but wanted to be sure. thanks. :)

The recovery partition is for the exclusive use of the recovery system. You should not store files there or modify it in any way. Doing so could prevent it from being used for it's intended purpose.
