Have to uninstall sound drivers every boot to prevent LOUD SCREECHING

This is still a problem in progress, but getting worse. I thought it was a mobo or hardware problem but I have a work around.

After booting or coming out of sleep or hibernation, the laptop spreaker ROARS with unbelievably LOUD SCREECHING!

This happens just after the motherboard boot screen goes black and the little blinking cursor starts in the upper left corner. It's the point when one would use F8 for the menu.

The roar is horrible! Rebooting a dozen times does nothing. I have set the laptop speaker volume to 0 and the post sounds to Off. Nothing affects this roaring sound.

I thought it was hardware, but then UNinstalled the two sound drivers in DM:

Realtek 6.0.1.5942 [9/21/09]
and
Nvidia 1.2.23.3 [5/10/11]

Upon restart, there is no sound at all, and within a short period of time, Win 7 finds the drivers and installs them. After that, the sound is perfect. So, there is nothing wrong with hardware, which would continue to shriek.

If I set the laptop to sleep after 15-30 minutes, there is no problem on wake up.

This only happens after the laptop has been sleeping or hibernating for hours.

This is an Asus G50VT with Win 7 Pro.

BTW: this used to happen about every 10 wake ups, but now it does it every time.

I have tried to upgrade the sound drivers many times but it keeps saying it's the latest and best drivers.

Many thanks for ANY suggestions!

First thought, if you are not using the Realtek sound drivers from ASUS, get them and install them. The generic HD Audio drivers that Windows installs can cause problems in some systems.

Thanks, but I upgraded Realtek driver from:

6.0.1.5942 [9/21/090
to
6.0.1.6196 [9/7/10]

That driver does not work at all, and had to resort to older one--which works

I'm just wondering whether you need to update your chipset drivers.
