Having name resolution timed out error

Hi, found a nice article by you in windows 7, which i could not find in windows 7. Informative. But i have some doubts , would you clarify please. I do not find any specific topics of tutorials in win 7 by you and hence please excuse me. I do not know, also, how to pm you.

My query is, i am having name resolution timed out error.
You say that , if you browse the webpage, then the dns resolver cache would populate with the web pages.But, i find some dns name resolution warnings at the start of the pc. (without my browsing thro internet browsers. i get name resolution timed out about one to four sites, to which i have not browsed.
I tried your command ipconfig /displaydns and get could not resolve dns cache, but using your other commands, to copy to desktop as txt, i succeeded in getting the results. But i am baffled by the no of sites the dns resolver cache contains. It contains new sites, which i have not heard.
How those sites are attempting to get in to my network connections?

Note: i do not find any articles in seven forum about this point.
can i stop unncessary sites from accessing my network at the start?
Of course, i also get name resolution wpad.domain name timed out and at times, name resolution -ldap...timed out.
i was surprised that _ldap is a server related name resolution, but i got in my stand alone computer.

PS: i looked at dns client service and it is default set to automatic

The DNS resolver cache contents are from outgoing connections by your computer or you. They're not incoming.

Do you have programs that check in for updates etc...?

You could also lookup any unknown IP addresses to see where they are from to help ID them.

There are foreign servers, which i never visited. Glad to hear from you the exact clarifications. So, it is not incoming. How to disable all the updates that i would have enabled.
Should i look in to msconfig page or is there any short cut to stop all updates at startup, Should i uncheck all in the startup tab there in msconfig.
wpad.domain.name i checked one belonging to a website, that i did not browse. please say how to disable all updates from outside servers thro command or sighting your tutorial or your ideas.
So, _ldap is also outgoing servers that i enabled or some ips are trying to peep at my network. I will disable all at startup and then try.
On each restart, i get the internet light goes out and then reconnects . is that related to this behaviour

Any programs you have running or startup programs would be a good place to start.

If you like, you could install a free firewall program like Comodo Firewall that would require you to approve each and every outgoing connection.

Hi, I almost stopped all services, but still getting name resolution errors. This error , i could not see in ipconfig /dnsdisplay command. It list all others, but not this, Could you say something more on that.
Name resolution for the name _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.domain.name timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.
Who or which is getting this server as outgoing. Can i find that?
I think, that is related to a server computer settings,which i am not having.
Is that not responsible for ultimate disconnection of internet on every start and restart? pl brink

Can i use firefox browser, if i download comodo firewall.
It asks for downloading the dragon browser, which would limit my search web results.
Should i use their browsers to use their firewall? please reply.

You can use any browser with Comodo, but you'll just need to approve it connecting to the Internet when prompted by Comodo.

Hi, I asked you because, normally third party application tend to change your browser altogether with their browser resulting in limited search findings.
Ok, i will try that and see if it gives any idea on _ldap..
displaydns command works well and your tips there in the link would definitely give some idea of websites, to which the dns errors are related. Why cannot you add the dns tutorial to the Seven Forum? You also said, solution to the could not display error solution, which i find nowhere else.
I periodically get errors of could not display, but i overcome by your next suggestive command in the link in the first post of this, my, thread.

When i issued the displaydns command, i was shown 3 ips from France, which i have not set or browsed. What those ips are doing in the displaydns.

Hi, Brink, Let me give this url please,
When i get wpad.domain.name timed out alerts, i used your displaydns command and the url it gives, but would not go in browsers are related to france. I already mentioned in previous posts of this thread. It exactly tallies with the ips noted in the link thread , in the middle of the page, where the locker has given the french ips. Those are all wpad.domains.
It is also noted in the first para of the link, that most routers have dns suffix name as domain.name, which my router also has. When i experience timed out alerts from the so called wpad.domain, i experienced internet loss and reconnect.
I know that it is not favourite subject for you, but you are giving solutions to the vexed problem faced by users. If i just change the domain.name to say , in a name without dots, then i get wpad.name () timed out message and when i just leave it as domain.name, i get _ldap ..timed out errors.
I learned that wpad dns is a french ips web site. Why routers are set to wpad.net i do not know.
i tried all sorts of solutions, but i really fed up with internet loss at every start of pc
