I own a small video company, producing military history DVDs. We replicate our videos on DVD-Rs. Recently received a message from a customer saying
"It (our DVD-R) will not play in Windows seven or some Sony products because they assume a copy which uses VIDEO_TS is pirateded. You will have more problems with this in the future as more and more put anti-piracy counters in. You will
need to change the video format.

I did get it to work in someone else's system but you should let folks no
the DVD won't play in Windows Seven by default."

Can anyone tell me what he is talking about?

It's quite possible the dvd rom they are trying to play the disc on & getting a bit dated. They should update the firmware if one is available for it.

I had the experience a few years back using XP. Was trying to copy Seinfeld onto the computer. Most discs were OK but every now & then XP would not accept a disc. Sometimes taking it back & getting a replacement worked sometime it would not.

Since then I upgraded the computer thus the dvd rom. This time I had no issues copying Seinfeld over. Computer which is running 7 picked everyone up.
