Hello Everyone! I am in need of some help & I know U guys R my answer!

Hello Everyone!! I've actually been reading & watching this Win 7 forum for a long time now. But now I'm in need for some help. I know that this is more than likely already on here somewhere, but being new here, I am unable to locate the proper section. I need to know exactly how to setup my SSD as strictly a boot drive for my OS (Win 7 Pro x64bit), & use my 1TB WD Black HHD strictly for Storage. And moving the typical user files, libraries, and Programs to my larger HHD for storage. But ignorant me cannot seem to locate on just how to do this CORRECTLY! Can or will someone help me if its in the forum & show me the location, or advise me on how to accomplish this in the correct way. I've seen a few different ways to do this. But I trust you guys here more so than some YouTube video, if you catch my drift! Any & all help is greatly appreciated very much. As I only want to do this one time & be done with the issue for a change! Thanks again for all or any of your help and knowledge on this subject! AWMEANS

Hi

One thing to remember is disconnecting HDD before installing OS to SSD. Otherwise Windows may install boot loader files in hard drives which will create headaches later. Also make sure to connect SSD to the first SATA port and it will automatically became the first boot device in BIOS.

After the clean install to SSD finished, connect HDD as slave drive and delete all partitions on it from "Disk Management". Then create one or two partitions exclusively for data storage.

I simply keep anything I don`t want to loose on my hard drives, I have 4 connected and they each have their purpose. I see no reason to change any default user locations, after having something in My Pictures or My Documents for more then a day, or immediately for that matter, I simply put the file on 1 of my storage drives, then, if it`s really important, I`ll back it up to a flash drive. Then delete it off my ssd.

Keep your programs installed on the ssd, that way you can make a proper disk image, and take advantage of the ssd`s speed.

Windows and all my programs only take up 21 GBs on my current 119 GB SSD ;)

As stated, only have the ssd hooked up to the motherboard when you install windows.
