Hi
I work in a local large PC outlet and recently reset a laptop too factory for a customer who had Office 2010 Home & Student on it, she does not know any login creds nor has the product key but we have proof of purchase from my store - I called one Microsoft number who said it would be possible to sort out and that the customer & I could call another number he supplied, but when we did the person on that end was more sales based and said that it could not be sorted out and that she would have to re-purchase the product!!! I was totally astounded! at the shop I work at we swipe/scan all Microsoft cards/discs so the purchase goes too Microsoft, the 2010 Home & Student discs were purchased 18 months ago.
is there any way for MS too pull up the proof of purchase off our receipt and simply give the lady a new key and download link for H&S 2010?
I cant believe that she was told to purchase it again...if i lost my car keys I wouldn't have to buy a whole new car..its just daft.
thanks
