Hot Temps even after installing new fan

Why not download Core Temp and see what CPU Temp readings you get from that.

Core Temp is showing very fluctuating temperatures. They seem to start at the current idle temp (47C) then slowly drops down to around 35-38, stay there for a second or two then hop back up to 47-50 and go back down again to lows of 35.. Not sure what this means..

Tj. Max is 83C
After leaving it on for a few minutes, at idle: Min 33C, Max 60C

Once opening a game and putting the system under mild load (10%-20%) the temps go up to a consistant 46-47 whilst speedfan remains at 47.

I should also mention these are the temps I'm getting with a relatively cool room temp, unlike usual where my room heats up quickly due to my computer.

Had to uninstall Core Temp because after re-opening it, it caused my computer to black screen.. on re-startup, the program file was corrupt..

Update on the situation

Bought a new graphics card that now idles at 30-32 degrees using 20% fan speed and is super quiet.

The CPU is still a major problem but am going to look at resitting the heatsink in the coming days and replacing the side intake fans with some better one and see if that changes things.

Jordyi,
Take pictures of the thermal paste on both surfaces and post back. Re-install only after cleaning completely all the old paste off same. Then use a premium paste and please watch a couple of videos and determine which application will work best for you. I have my own method as many here will attest to theirs the key is less is more and then a slow, even and steady approach to tightening the cooler down and I like doing a little wiggle with it in the tightening process. Once nice and snug then the paste will need to heat and cool several times to cure and then after say 3-7 days I would open and dbl. check the tightness again and snug if it's loose.
