I have a user is on his personal Win 7 home PC with his Canon printer plugged in via USB. From his home PC, he VPN's and RDP's into his Win 7 box here at the office. The question is that he would like to print files within the RDP session from his local printer connected to his local home PC. Is that even possible to do? And how?

Hi,

Have you checked 'Local devices and resources' within the RDP setting?
Make sure 'Printers' is ticked

Thanks, but I believe this only allows access to the printers connected within the remote machine.

Did that work? Do you see the printer in the print dialog?

Both systems have win7 x64 (64 bits)?

The RDP server must have the Canon printer drivers! Normally the driver is home on win7 machine as well (otherwise home printing won't work of course). But can the home machine transfer the driver to office RDP??? They must have same architecture so both x86 or both x64. Otherwise (if not same architecture) install the canon drivers on the RDP machine.
