Solved How do I clear the recently typed words in Win 7's On-Screen keyboard?

Hi, how do I clear the recently typed words in Win 7's On-Screen keyboard?

For example when I press the letter 'f' then my typed words that begun with 'f' as shown below appears on the text prediction of the On-Screen keyboard.

I want clear that cause my laptop's a multi-user one...

You'll have to be more clear on the problem. The image doesn't show up and there's no "recent words" stored in the On-Screen Keyboard so it must be the software you're using.

Image is fixed. There are recent words stored cause how come the words are specific (they are all my words that I use frequently) whenever I hit the 'f' button. I'm not using a 3rd party software, it's Win 7's own.

Well son of a gun. There seems to be bug with my version of Pro-64. I don't show the option for Prediction. Does yours? Un-check the box if it does.

• Text prediction is only available in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. To enable text prediction in a specific language, you must first install additional language files for that language. For more information, see Install or change a display language.
• Text prediction isn't included in Windows 7 Home Basic.

Apparently it's not available unless you install a LP (even tho it says other langs), our friend husan is from Argentina and might have done so.

I wonder though, is this part of tablet Pc computing?

@husan: do what carwiz suggests if you have the "Text Prediction" option. That option is not in either of our versions.

I found out why Text Prediction wasn't showing in my Options for the keyboard. It is part of the Tablet PC Features. I turned that on (check-box), re-booted and it now shows in the keyboard Options.

M$ sure likes to bury simple features.

I have the "Text Prediction" option in x64 Ultimate SP1 English with no additional LP.

EDIT: When I saw Slartybart's post I thought no it's not because I have it but I don't have a Tablet but then I saw Carwiz's last post and I too have Tablet PC Features turned on.

I don't believe it saves new words but it list frequently used words.

The more you use this feature, the more it gets to know you and the words you typically use. Your most frequently used words will move to the top of the list, speeding up your typing even more.

Using Process monitor I found a related reg key that pointed to

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\InputPersonalization\TrainedDataStore\{A2081B32-8CCF-4FD0-95AA-FCA63CC02794}\{49C68E83-392B-4D7F-8ACB-AD382602148E}_a

Deleting the file "{49C68E83-392B-4D7F-8ACB-AD382602148E}_a" cleared the frequently used words. If you have seperate accounts for each user then this should be unnecessary but check first.

The long numbers between the braces may be different on different PC's.

Done a quick test now and found the following,

If Text Prediction has been used then without deleting the file the frequently used words will still be there if Text Prediction is turned back on, but while it's turned off no new words will be saved.

If you turn Text Prediction off then delete the file and leave Prediction off then the file will not be created again.

It also only saves the word if you click it under the Prediction.

I only have one user account so I have not tested that but as this is saved to a users AppData folder then it makes sense that each account would have there own list.
