How Do I use custom themes in Windows 7?

Try giving full control to the Administrator, thats what I normally do when taking ownership.

You seemed to have also overlooked Zidane's post

Administrator already has full control of explorer.exe, Windows, and the theme's explorer.exe which I am try to use.

I log in as the admin and it still won't let me replace it.

You cant replace explorer when it's in use, I take it that the only thing you want to change is the start orb, you will need to download the 30 day trial of Restorator and open the modified explorer and extract the start orb you want to use then open the explorer in windows with Restortor and put it back in, then open task manager and kill explorer and then save your new explorer in Restorator.

Then go back to task manager and select new task and type explorer and hit enter.

Ok, I downloaded it, but how do I extract the start orb from the modified explorer and then put it into the normal explorer?

Chris, there is a link at the top of my tutorial linking to this ;)

I know...but folks will probably not even use that method...

It is because they believe that the modifying of system files is the only way
