How to add people to a picture in windows live gallery image editor

I have windows 7 on a laptop. Home edition.
It has a basic imaging editor (I can straighten, crop, etc.)

What I would like to do is add people and crop or scissor people into and out of pictures. Can I do this with windows home 7 or do I have to download something extra? Thanks for your help.

you could try windows photo gallery from microsoft,
it has an option to merge some pics, not sure its what you need but have a look here

Simple question requires simple answer

I have windows gallery live that came with the computer, but I don't see any of those tools, except photomerge but I can't cut anything out of one pic and merge it with another , is what I'm saying.

This shouldn't be so hard.

I have windows 7 Home version OS, not windows 8 and don't plan on getting it in the near future.

windows 8 doesnt really have that function either but it does have the ability to use app s that do , having said that there are obviously softwares for 7 that will do the same job,
or even online editors

Windows photo gallery's Photo fuse is fairly finicky but see if any of these existing questions help,

I have done this with Word and GIMP. E.g I put this friend into a location (La Defense in Paris) where he has never been in his life. It is pretty tricky though.
