Hello wise ones. I have a long list of topics which I add to most every day, and they are positioned according to their alphabetic heading. It is taking longer and longer to scroll down to the letter I want to place something under and so would like to find a way to jump to that letter rather than have to scroll - can you help please?

Hi pawz7
In Word you can create an automatic Table of Contents, using your alphabetic headings. If you format your alphabetic headings witha Word heading style (Heading 1, 2 or 3), then you can use a Table of Contents as Jump List.

have found the TOC option but not yet learned how to drive it so work in progress - but thank you, I will go away and have a play.

Had a play, looked at the MS page ( that goes on for ever, complicated), looked at a couple of vids, seems not to quite do what I want - or I am just being thick. Have found an alternative - not ideal but it will do; bookmarks. I have to open the doc, then go to 'bookmarks' in the insert option (which I previously set up for each letter of the alphabet),then choose the particular letter I want to access and then click on 'go to' and it jumps down to that section of the page. That works, it will do for now. Thank you for you help, appreciated.
