How to disable office 2016 telemetry or how to check it.

I have read that office also does telemetry collection.

This can be seen, for example, here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt599629(v=office.16).aspx

I have tried to search this and find how to completely disable office telemetry without uninstalling it. Unfortunately all I can find is how to prevent telemetry from windows update.

Can someone help-me on this?

In the group policy bit it looks pretty straight forward to turn telemetry collection off.

Thanks for the fast reply z3r010. I have some attention problems and having your help was already worth posting here.

I have contacted microsoft support and it was said that by default, telemetry on office is turned off, which is show on what you have show to me and that slipped past me.
Unfortunately I'm new to office and thus I need some more help to find out if what they say is really being honoured. You can see on previous versions of office that logs are still being created even with telemetry off (https://social.technet.microsoft.co...e-telemetry-data-collection?forum=officeitpro ). It is also said on this reply link that this problem was solved when the office was upgraded, still, how can I see if the logs are not being generated and data are not being sent?
