Hi,
I still currently use Windows XP with the unofficial service pack 4 and it runs pretty well but i reluctently am having to update to Windows 7 because some software i use such as firefox no longer supports XP. The last version to support Windows XP is 52.9.
Newer versions are faster and support more add-ons, amoungst other improvements.
There is also other software i want to use that doesn't work on XP.
The version of Win7 i'll install is Windows 7 Tiny Ultimate x32 bit and i'll dual boot it with XP.
But before i install it i want to solve some issues.
Display Properties
I hate the bloated personalise window. You can still get to the screen saver and appearance tabs of display properties from the Personalise window but how can get the Themes, Desktop, Appearance and Settings tabs as well.
Are there registry tweak(s), dll file(s) i need or command line switch(s) to enable the other tabs.
XP style display properties with tabs accross the top. I can quickly change any setting with a few clicks.

Ive researched alternative desktops but none of them have an alternative display properties module/applet.
I like Emerge desktop the best so far from reviews ive read.
Of course i'll be using Classic Shell, thats a given.
Libraries and homegroup.
I want to completely remove the stupid libraries and homegroup. I don't and won't ever use them.
I already have my files and network organised the way i want and i know where they are.
I noticed that there are guides on this site about how to remove them.
Power options
The default W7 power options windows is really bloated, annoying and difficult to use.
To actually change any setting you have to click on each tiny little + then click on the stupid drop down menu(s) to change it.
Its really tedious and annoying.
Is there an alternative program with all settings in one place with a nice clean UI.
Something like Toshiba Power Saver for example?
The power options dialogue in XP has all the settings in one dialogue and is easier to use.
The window behind has all that white space. Its stupid:

There must be an alternative 3rd party program with all the settings in one window/dialogue.
Thanks for any help.
