Solved How to make sure WIN7x64 creates MBR format during install?

Look guys stuff like this Rampage IV UEFI Boot Installation Guide On Windows 7 or 8 was the whole reason I thoguht MBR+UEFI is possible becuase they constantly repeated in guides how MBR is default, and then GPT is default but it could also be MBR, constantly it always seemed like there were both choices but windows choosed a default one. one guide even claimed that windows PROMPTS you which format to choose (never saw that in real life or picture)

What the heck now?

EDIT: Well obviously well educated and familiar people do have more idea so I'm not questioning much here, as we do have a word for that stuff like that: webshit

Well what about this Migrate MBR to UEFI posible! (windows 7 & 8)

Those are new "features" that require UEFI, but UEFI is not new and it has always been compatible with MBR.

.... internets make up your mind

It seemed all the time that stuff is just thrown around and there doesn't seem to be definitive way.

After more research I can confirm that it's Microsoft who has this restriction, UEFI completely supports MBR. Too bad

I'll make a contact, and we'll see what we can do to FORCE windows to support UEFI-MBR! But looks like right now i'll just go legacy.

Please let us know what you find out. :geek:

UEFI is still fairly new and only has come online full force within the past year. Before that we developed many of the workarounds and fixes here for Win7 installation and repair so it has required retooling and caused quite a bit of skepticism since things are a lot less complicated without UEFI.

Well that would be kind of a sideproject but that could take time.

I successfully reinstalled in legacy mode.
