How to prevent e-mails from being sent to all accounts

I have these very annoying spam messages that won't stop even if you unsubscribe them (now there even isn't an option to unsubscribe). They lead to some questionable scam sites which may harm the computer. I can't prevent it with antivirus programs. I have a router. Is it possible to just block an email from a certain e-mail address on the router or any way before it comes to inbox folder to any user?

The thing is, I know what seems suspicious and what not but my mother just won't recognize spam mail as she gets attracted to the stuff so she would click on it and this results in many adware and toolbars on the computer.

It is really annoying so what I need is a program, or any router setting that would prevent e-mail from loading these mails and even those mails from another users that of course, I don't and should not know the password.

Thanks for any help in advance.

I think some questions will need answers before anyone could suggest a way (if possible). What email provider/program are you (she) using? Are these emails from the same address or domain, or always different? I'm certain there are ways to block addresses or domains on some email providers/programs, but suspect the addresses change constantly to prevent just such a thing. And blocking a domain can be problematic if there are also lots of legit emails from the same domain. Often these addresses and domains can be spoofed or obfuscated so you can't easily even see/confirm where they actually come from. A Guy

It's our internet provider's official internet provider and the second one is gmail. I don't know since I actually don't have an access to the info but I think it's from the same or at least some of them come from the same address. I think the domain is not legit and could be safely blocked as I got some spam from a weird email from [email protected] so I don't think anyone would use this weird domain.

Thanks for the answer and hope you'll find some suggestions. Is an e-mail filtering a good solution. Is it possible to prevent it in a router admin site?

I believe a router can block ip address ranges, but it is not the normal way one would block emails. You say "It's our internet provider's official internet provider", but that doesn't tell us what that is :)

Gmail apparently won't let you block, but will let you filter, and send to trash is an option there

If you tell us who your internet providers email is, they might also have a way. A Guy

What about hosts file? Can you modify it to block it? The internet provider: T-2: Future Technologies Today

I also have AVG Internet Security. Would it work if I blocked it via their spam filter?

Please can anyone come with some good suggestions?

A word regarding your first statement..."even if you unsubscribe them"....never, ever unsubscribe from spam or acknowledge it in any way as that will simply confirm that you exist and in will come more of the same.

If you don't have anti-spam software try experimenting with Mail Rules that put all mail into special folders that isn't from your contact list or approved senders list.

As I listed above, I have AVG IS 2014 so antispam is included. None of my answers (about hosts and the other software programs) were actually answered. I also had a question about router setting (have tomato firmware), however, nobody seemed to take their time to answer. Although I answered and provided additional information you requested.

Since your provider apparently hosts it's own mail, you'd need to see if they have blocking ability. I could find nothing about their email at all. A HOSTS file can block the pages the emails lead to, if you add every one by ip address or domain name.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/78266-hosts-file-use-windows-7-vista.html

This does not block the emails from arriving, but rather blocks the ability to visit the sites they contain. Most spammers have many sites, and change them quite often as they are taken down. You'd have to add more items to the HOSTS file.

The best bet is via the emails own blocking ability, if it exists.

You need answers I need information.
The answer is yes... you can block/filter spam msgs.

How? Well, you see .... that's why I need specific information - there are far too many Web based eMail clients and a few too many PC based eMail clients to give you a magic wand.

Most clients have some built in filtering - you have to create the filter though. It's easy and after a short while, your spam is 0

There are also 3rd party filters, but I have never found it necessary to emply any of them. The built in features work well enough if you configure them properly

No magic wand - shucks. Google search is the next best thing.
https://www.google.com/search?q=email+filter&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-Address&ie=&oe=

After you read about filtering, specific to your client, ask a few specific questions after you mention the specific client, ISP, and Mail server you use of course.
