How to save Total System status ?

Suppose If I have opend many windows, documents, Excel sheets, Internet explorer pages etc.. And and I need shutdown the system. If I re-boot the system I need to open all windws excel sheets web pages etc and it will take long time.

Is there any solution to save all the windows status open automatically when I re-boot the system. If there is no option at least for web pages can restore automaticlly when I restart system ?

There is hibernation and there is sleep. Sleep requires a continuous supply of power to retain the data in memory whereas hibernation uses hard drive space and therefore doesn't need power. Hibernation takes longer for the computer to enter and resume from. As for a full shutdown that clears the memory of everything and saves no running programs.

How it is possible.. Is there any option to restore status of computer apart from sleep / hibernate ?

Hibernation is the only option available in Windows that can take you exactly to your desktop from where you left it even after unplugging your computer(Only when your PC is Hibernating).How ever it requires nearly a 1 GB of Hard disk space......

Many installers save a small portion of the system state that they require. Most applications do not have this capability in any form whatsoever. For your purposes you need to use sleep or hibernation. There are no other options. Hibernation will require disk space that approaches RAM size.

I played around this in Win 7 32 Bit and so far it works quite well as advertised imho.
The MSI download scans clean with Panda, MBAM, and Virus Total.

It does restart all selected programs on startup.
Many of my programs auto start to the last "session", so I see the previously opened files.
i.e. Pale Moon, Firefox, Foxit Reader, Crimson Editor, Notepad++
You will have to see what programs you use that can be configured to "auto start with the last opened" !

Excel does NOT auto start with the last workbook(s)/spreadsheets that were open before shutdown.
I don't know if it's possible to configure Excel or other MS Office programs to start with that option.
In Excel when I click File to open a workbook, I have a list of Recent Documents, so it's easy for me to manually re-open my last work.

You do have to run the program before each shutdown and select the program(s) you want to auto-restart.

As I see it, I guess it's kinda like a "Selective One Time Auto Start" option ...
With msconfig startup, it's a fixed list of auto-start programs, for every bootup.
This seems like a one-time auto start user selected choice of what to auto start on the next reboot.

How it works with Patch Tuesday updates ... who knows ...

I use sleep and hibernate, but that doesn't help with restarting the "last session" after a re-boot.
I think this can help with what you want, maybe not 100%, but it might make it easier/better for you.
Give it a try.

As already stated you can use Hibernate and keep everything in place even though the PC powers off completely. This is an appropriate timeout if you use Sleep since it keeps power to the RAM indefinitely until you come back which could in rare cases be a year of continuous RAM use. So I set Sleep at 30 and Hibernate at 60. This allows those who like to leave their work open to walk away without concern about shutting down.

But the PC does need periodic reset as well as Restarts for Updates and other reasons. So I would not try to avoid those situations but see them as necessary maintenance.
