Something new has been added to You Tube annoyances: full motion auto play of everything in the side panel at rhe same time. There apparently is a cure for this in Android. But I could not find it in the prescribed manner for the desktop of going to My avatar image top right, opening settings and finding something called Auto Play Home meaning Home Page at Yt.

There's a tutorial for Android that is straightforward. I can't see it for the desktop and multiple menus in Yt itself are just more confusing.

I've had Firefox for a long time and now moved to a variation called Basilisk. But it happens on both:
the right hand option area of 'suggestions' are now animated: moving images from the content. What could be worse or more invasive?

I check in with youtube again to see if I can get more detail: whether it's just on the

user homepage or straight load to the url.

You are right-- not doing it now for me either. I'll have to find the exact window combination and url.
But still that user option seems to be differnet for Android vs desktop users.

Ok, not auto play specifically. On this link which is just on boat repair, the suggestions side
will start moving then shut off each time a mouse hovers on one. The effect is like those
excruciatingly annoying Avatars that do some motion then repeat again and again. See it once,
it might be funny. See it again and again you just want to get rid of it quick.

The Autoplay button is for something else. That plays the next video in the queue. That can be useful and even help find things you weren't on for.
