Hello,
The printer is connected via a USB cable to USB port 001
The printer stopped accepting printjobs
I've deleted the printer from Printers & Devices several times
Each time I restarted the machine
I've disabled the Homegroup to simplify matters
Mr. FixIt can't find the problem
The printer will show up on Printers and Devices when I "Add Printer"
I'm using the Windows 7 HP LaserJet 1320 PCL 5 Driver
But it won't print a Test Page
It won't print from WORD
When I right-click 0n the printer icon, no documents are waiting to be printed
I've made sure it is the default printer using the Registry
I hope I don't have to reinstall the O/S, which is Win7 Pro 64 Bit

What can else be done?
Thank You in advance

Uninstall all the printer software and driver shut the PC down and disconnect the printer from the PC. Restart, clean all traces of it you can find and download the driver and software from HP not Windows. Don't connect the printer yet start the installer and wait till the installer asks you to connect the printer and turn it on and finish the install. To make it default just go to Devices and Printers right click the printer icon and make it default. Hope this helps

How the SNAFU was de-SNAFUed

Thanks to the SevenForums crowd for responding.
Usually deleting all traces of the printer instance and rebooting then re-installing the driver and re-adding the printer works, but this time I did need to re-install my operating system before I could print. All is well now. This is a great forum! Sometimes having a sounding board at odd hours is invaluable. :)

Sorry ;ate reply mate I suppose I should have suggested the sfc and chkdsk it could have been something as simple as that but never mind it is going.

A couple of things I think you might like to do id this

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/4230-registry-backup-restore.html I always do this on a clean install just in case and this is so helpful

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11728-optimize-windows-7-a.html just work through it slowly and it will make a world of difference to your machine's performance
