I cannot search anything on the start menu!

This started maybe 2 days ago, when I wanted to search for one of my files that I misplaced. And a lot earlier, my computer stopped letting me make ANY folders! I have to make a zip file, put some shortcut in it, and then extract it to make a folder. WTF?! How in the world do I fix this?!

Try a system restore
if that doesn't fix it try a repair install
