I can't save email attachments (from Outlook2007) to another file.

Hello, I used to use Outlook Express and had NO probs right clicking an attachment and saving the file (what ever the attachment was) to any folder on my PC.

With Windows7-Outlook 2007 I can only right click and 'copy', then past into a Word document or 'Paint', etc.

I CAN'T 'Save' the attachment to another file (like 'My Photos'), etc.

When I click the attachment and click File, 'Save' is faded out and not accessible.

Can anyone tell me what the problem is? I've NEVER been able to 'Save' an attachment, no matter what it is since starting Windows7 with Outlook7 and it's SO frustrating! It would be GREAT if I could watch animated .gifs in Outlook 2007 too but that's a problem for another day. Oh how I HATE Outlook7!

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

With the email open in the 'Preview' window I click 'View' and there is no 'Open Attachments'. With email opened I clicked 'Other Actions' and then 'Save Attachments'. Nothing else happens... no question as to 'Where' I want to save them, no nothing. I checked 'My Pictures' and the attachments aren't there. It's not saving them anywhere that I can tell.

Don't you have a Save As option? This is from the link I posted:

  1. In the open or previewed message, right-click the attachment that you want to save.
  2. On the shortcut menu, click Save As.
  3. Choose a folder location, and then click Save.

No 'Save As' there's, only 'Copy'. That's the problem. There IS no 'Save As', 'Save' or otherwise. Not by right clicking over the attachment. You know, as I'm writing this I'm realizing the files in question didn't really come AS attachments. They were pasted into the email. Never the less I SHOULD be able to right click and save them, which of course I can't. I seriously need to get RID of Outlook and just use Windows Live I guess.http://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/
