Has anyone heard anything from Wolfgang, aka WHS? He hasn't posted here since May 17 last year nor has he been posting over on HTG.

Yes I've noticed this some time ago given he was such an active contributor. He was active in a computer club and maybe some of those club members look here and know the situation.
(I'm less of a contributor now because I have other pressing commitments)

Same here. I believe Brink has also conducted some fruitless searches.

I very well remember that whs was absent for a while and then reported due to health problems he was not posting anything in the forums and once he is alright he will be back. He did come back after a while and started his posts. That was a brief comeback and then again he disappeared. ( I do not remember the time frame when these things happened but surely his last posts on these can be verified by the forum administrators.) So most probably his health deteriorated beyond redemption after a brief recovery..

While Wolfgang was fighting cancer a while back, he would occasionally make an appearance here and respond to PMs and personal emails. He did beat the cancer and came back, active as ever. But, since mid-May, he has disappeared. while I'm reasonably sure of the worst (he isn't a young man), I'm still hoping for the best.

Actually I thought I saw him post in here not that long ago and I think it was not long before Christmas - I stand to be corrected of course - and I think it was in one of his tutorials.

Also I seem to remember him saying once he had trouble with his vision, and something more than just cataracts.

His last activity was in May of 2016. Even when he was dealing with cancer and wasn't posting here, some of us were able to contact him. Since May, nothing despite several of us trying to contact him.

I couldn't have expressed my thought's any better Joan. I remember the time he was very patient with me when I was learning how to use Microsoft's Expression Coder to take movies of an American Eagle family down in Hanover PA.
