I Get BSOD Constantly, too!

I have been using Windows for decades and instead of getting easier to use it gets more difficult. Now I've got Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and it crashes daily. I am not a systems administrator by trade, but have been administering various variations for years and it just gets harder and harder for the lay person. Security by obscurity is not security! It's moronic! I am almost ready to jump ship and move to Linux.

Without removing the old pathways to address file access issues they have created an obscure way of doing it, which because I am not a Windows Administrator and don't use it daily, I keep forgetting how to do it. I am in school now and have little time to deal with these issues.

I am frustrated and angry at Microsoft and Dell
because they can't seem to make a stable system. I got this computer at the beginning of last semester and spent many hours with Dell Support trying to track down the causes of this BSOD issue. I got behind in my school work and ended up having to take an incomplete in one of my classes. I did not have time to deal with it over the short holiday and now I am starting a new semester.

I have many dump and xml files that have been created by the many crashes I have had since I last had time to deal with support. It would be nice if I could look at them myself but I keep getting "Access Denied" when I try to open them. I have used the BSOD Posting Instructions for Windows 7 - Vista and zipped everything up and attached it here.

Any help with this issue would be most appreciated. (Especially with current method for gaining access to files.)

Your Bugcheck code is 0xFE Which points to a USB 2.0 Device probably pointing to an external hard drive.

Are you using an external drive USB 2.0?

Currently looking for drivers that may possibly need to be updated and or removed.

Thanks for responding. I have a couple of thumb drives that I sometimes use in the USB port, but infrequently and most of my crashes have happened w/o either installed. As far as the files you indicated, where are you getting those dates? None of the files I found on my system had those dates.

Those files come from your dumps. Your crashes are pointing to your USB port/driver, While that may not be the real cause but in order to get more clues as to whats going on we need to update old drivers or remove old programs/drivers no longer used.

Those drivers i listed are on your computer! Remove them or update them accordingly. Also make your your motherboard drivers are up to date. From Dell support website.
