The reason behind this is that we took on two cameras pictures of our holiday and wanted to amalgamate them by date and time taken. The accidental deletion of some and wrong clock setting on a camera, with other matters means that the photos' numbers vary in the various folders. Without going deeper, my idea was to copy the list (file name, date taken etc etc); paste list in to Excel, then cross reference flies n other folders with different numbers back to those in first folder.

I can't seem to do it. Is it possible, and how?

Very easy to do.

  1. Search for Karens' Power Tools (or Karens' Directory Printer) using your favorite search engine.
  2. Download and install the Karen's program.
  3. Launch Karen's Directory Printer.
  4. Go through all of the optional setting and SAVE TO DISK (saves a txt file to your designated location).
  5. Import the Karen's directory TXT file into Excel.
I'm assuming you know how to set Excel import parameters.
