As said, when I boot the PC Action Center reports I need to change my update settings. This I do and change to auto download and install and click OK, on reboot this changes back to "Never Check for Updates (Not recommended)".

Don't know when this started but have recently updated Bitdefender TS 2014 to the latest 2015 version so am not sure if this could cause it. Checked the BD forum but cannot find anyone else reporting a similar problem.

Maybe a SFC or Registry problem? Hell, I know nothing!!

Topic should be WIN Udate not IN Update:o

Problem was within the Profile settings for BitDefender, in two of the three pre-set 'profiles' the default setting was to "postpone downloading windows updates" Unchecked this option and back to normal.
