Info on link layer topolgy

Hey all, was wondering if there's any advantage to enabling link layer topology discovery in a 2 pc home network, is it just window dressing for mapping the network?

You might take a look at this-

If I understand it correctly, disabling it would stop the graphical display of the local area network.
