Installed memory(RAM): 4GB (2.94GB Usable)

stuffs

since the beta, i have gone back to vista 64 but using a new pc with 8gb ram, so no problems there. i still haven't upgraded haha, but it would seem rational for them to do that, it would be interesting so see what would happen now on my new computer.

As one poster already stated your video card must be a built in card... part of mobo... so because of that you only see 3GB useable! If you went to 8GB total you will see 7GB useable.

What is the make and model of your system? Please fill in your system specs!

Sorry, I could have sworn when I checked specs earlier they were blank!

Perhaps the Xfi??? Some HW has allocated 1GB, because with the 64 bit you have all 4GB available to system... mine did after I upgraded!

WAIT A MINUTE YOU ARE NOT THE O.P.... he has only 4GB RAM... FTW????

hmm im guessing the only way we were to get the actual answer would to be to ask the programmers of windows,...but it could be anything, including drivers

To the OP, reseat your memory. There's a chance one of your sticks is either not seated properly, or has died.

This isn't a fix at all, because that option doesn't become checked on it's own. By default, it is unchecked, and shouldn't be checked unless you are a developer who knows why you would need to limit your memory.

Confirmed!!! I checked msconfig on my laptop which has 3 of 4 GB useable... goes to video & audio subsystems... this is unchecked by default!

In going through this thread I am surprised at the number of replies with under 5 posts total and all the "expert" advice given here... :roflmao:

The OP never responded but I bet its a lappy or desktop with integrated graphics and or sound! These youngins just dont understant how things used to be!
