Hello everyone, i'm new here and i'm from Holland so my English is not very good.
I want to uninstall my only OS: Windows 7 and reinstalling a new Windows 7. I want to do this because i can't delete a driver that is causing shut down problems (if you people can me help me with that would also be ok!) So i've got 2 partitions; a C and a D. My OS is currently running on my C, so how can i delete the OS and install the new OS? My second question is; will ALL the drivers of external hardware (keyboard, mouse) and internal hardware be gone? Oh yeah, the driver that causing the problem is the driver of my Steelseries keyboard and i can't delete it, can i delete than one in safe mode?

Hi there,

Before we start talking about doing a clean install, have you tried going to Device Manager and clicking on the arrow next to Keyboards? You will then see the keyboard you are talking about. Right-click on it and choose Uninstall and that will uninstall your problem driver.

You will obviously have to then look for a more recent one or do some research on Google to see if other people had the same problem with that keyboard and what solution they found.

Stay cool mate.

By the way...here is a link that shows you how to do a clean install in case you decide to go down that road.

Another method to roll back the problem driver if it's install caused the problem is to System Restore to a point before this happened. If it hangs then boot into System Recovery Options to run System Restore from boot.

If you want to reinstall look over the steps compiled to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which are the same for retail and include everything needed.. If you'll post back a screenshot of Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image telling us what's on each partition we can help you decide which to keep and which to delete during the booted reinstall.

Thanks everyone, but i've installed a new Windows 7. Not only because of the shutting down problem, but also to have a fresh OS. On my old OS was a lot of trash that i never used. Now i only use my PC for gaming. Thanks for the help here! Great support here!
