Installing itunes, compatibility mode or no?

Howdy:

I've searched the forums for an answer, but am curious how people are installing itunes. I have not yet tried an install, mind you. I'm doing a new i7 build tonight with RC1 x64 and don't want any unnecessary initial headaches.

So, the question is this: Do I install the 64 bit itunes in Vista compatibility mode, or just straightaway? I've seen that many had issues back during beta, but am just wondering what the current M.O. is.

Thanks!

I had no problem installing 32-bit iTunes regularly in 7 Beta. I just upgraded, so I didn't have to reinstall for 7 RC. I still get the annoying Window-doesn't-refresh-contents problem, but Vista users seem to have that, too. Still not sure if that's Windows' or iTunes' problem.

i personally had issues with it... only installed for kid's use briefly, then resorted to winamp. by the way, i would reccommend doing the dirty work and clean installing the OS rather than lazy upgrading... this way you can compare your potential problems against a clean OS rather than a "dirty" one. Also the time it takes to upgrade, atleast from what i seen from upgrading Vista to RC which took a guy over 6 hours he stated, you could have done installed in 20+ plus minutes and installed most of your programs in the same time it takes without the worry of "did the upgrade screw my OS install"

I really just didn't want to have to install all my software over again. I set it up to upgrade and went to bed, so time wasn't an issue. I plan on clean-installing when the retail version comes out. I just hate re-installing software and drivers (especially because I have a SoundBlaster card and it's damn near impossible to get that thing running in 7)

I just downlaoded, the 64 bit version, and it ran perfectly, no problems at all..

Is that what your asking, or did you have a problem with it?

I've yet to install the OS, but hopefully tonight. I guess the question is whether one just goes ahead and runs the itunes installer, or whether one runs the installer in Vista comapability mode.

Thanks!
