Installing Windows after a complete format, just a few questions.

Wait to see if the Display, Ethernet and SMBus drivers are delivered during all rounds of Updates. Be sure to enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) and keep checking back for more Updates after reboots.

Then any drivers still missing in Device Manager can be imported from the Samasung Support Downloads webpage for your model . SM Bus will likely be a part of the chipset. If you have questions post back your make/model for more specific help.

Start paying attention to performance in web browsing and running Programs to report back on that too. I always space program installs far enough apart so it becomes clear if one affects performance after install.

I did download the display driver from the samsung page and installed it but since then I keep getting an NSIS error or something when I start-up - it could be something else as I've been installing a lot of things I suppose but it seemed to coincide.

Did you import the display driver before all rounds of Important and Optional Windows Updates were done?
Why? Do you have problems following clearly written steps? Why would you ask for our help and then ignore it?

Uninstall the driver in Device Manager and run Windows Updates repeatedly until they are all installed.

Did you enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3)?

Yes, I did. All the updates were done but the driver still wasn't there. I didn't ignore your help, I finished the updates first. And I've solved the error anyway. Jeez.

Sorry, I misread your post then. :o

What was the problem with driver - needed a reboot?

How is overall performance?
